Child And Adolescent Mental Health Services, Division of Clinic brain neuropsychiatric Institute and research centre observed World Autism Awareness Week on the 6th April at its Annex Building in Barasat. The programme was attended by 35 children who are presently on treatment for Autistic Spectrum Disorder. They were accompanied by their parents and caregivers on this occasion. This 3 hour programme was inaugurated by Mr Asani Mukherjee, Chairman Barasat Municipality and was graced by Dr Ashok Roy, senior Surgeon, Dr Anil Ghosh, senior Paediatrician, Dr Dhiman Chatterjee, senior Paediatrician. The main attraction of this programme were the presentations on Autistic Spectrum Disorder by Prof Anirban Roy and Dr Debanjan Banerjee, both of them are highly acclaimed Psychiatrists in the country. Ms Priyanka Ghosh, Special Educator attached to Kalyani Public School also attended the programme. Dr Suvayan Saha presented an inspiring story of an autistic child who completed his graduation.
